International German Rallycross Championship 2013 – Round 3
Estering, Buxtehude
After two major damages (Gearbox and Differential) in this season the team was hoping for a clean race weekend and valuable points for the championship. On Saturday Andreas Schrader did not risk anything and ended up only on 8th place. But because of this year’s regulations, this meant leadership in the championship.
On Sunday Andreas was in fighting mode. But not for long. It was a young and carefree Dutch driver who crashed in Andreas’ right front wheel in turn 2 of the second heat. A typical race accident, but Andreas needed this like a hole in the head.
The race was basically over. Since Andreas was qualified for the final, the team prepared the car to roll at least at medium speed, in case one of the other drivers would have an ever worse damaged car. This did not happen and so the team earned 15 points, because foreign drivers are not eligible for points this year.
This means leadership in the International German Rallycross Championship in the summer break. See you in Groß Dölln!
